Who Are We?

Servicing Alberta and Saskatchewan, On The Move Safety specializes in Transportation and Occupational Health and Safety. The team at On The Move Safety has spent the last 10 years in the safety and training sector. 

Owners Ken and Vicki Baird both have experience as commercial drivers, prior to their roles as instructors and certified safety professionals. 

Vicki Baird is also a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and Certified Safety Professional.

Our Services

On The Move Safety provides several services to their clients throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. These services are provided by the skilled team behind the company, who have years of experience in their respective fields. 


We place sensible safety at the forefront of all we do; from the largest of semi-tractor unit to the tiniest of regular commuters. Our training courses and compliance services are offered to provide carriers and drivers throughout Western Canada.


Management Consulting

Offering NSC advisor work and management consulting services to carriers throughout Western Canada, who require assistance in achieving compliance. Ranging form on-site record-keeping, daily log and trip inspection audits to NSC administrator mentoring, spot checks and management system analysis.



Get the A to Z of everything you need to know about transportation safety during our four-day workshops throughout the year. This workshop qualifies you for the Canada Alberta Job Grant.



As the transportation industry embarks on the latest trends of electronics and videos, we are equipped with a state-of-the-art multimedia department to provide solutions to these changing times. Along with comprehensive safety videos and in-studio or on-site filming, we also offer site tours to identify processes. Our cameras have all angles covered. Our computer engineer will also custom design software for record-keeping, orientations and training requirements. 


On-SIte Training

From log book completion to managing fatigue, regulations and procedure of trip inspection standards, we will provide in-house instruction specific to your operations in cargo securement, hours of service, vehicle inspection, fatigue management and defensive driving.


Measuring: Will you pass an audit?

Proactive carriers can ensure compliance with NSC Standards by requesting a Compliance Review. Other services include:

Our Staff

From journalism and computer science to English and graphic design, our staff bring a wide variety of skills to On The Move Safety. Those skills allow us to provide our customers with the best service possible.

Vicki Baird, CRSP, CSP

Vicki works as a safety advisor and auditor. She earned her Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation in May of 2008. In January of 2012, she achieved her Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation. Currently, she is a full-time auditor and consultant for both National Safety Code Compliance (COR) and Partners in Injury Reduction. 


Craig Baird,

Craig is the Multimedia Manager at On The Move Safety and provides technical support to the company and its clients. With training in computer programming and a computer science degree, Craig also designs training software for the company. In addition, he provides website support, drone video operation and training video filming. 


Office Staff

Within the On The Move Safety office, our employees Lorraine Frank, Molly Donovan, Seanna Holland and Faith Witherow help provide various services including log auditing, client customer service and workshop support. 

Ken Baird, OH&S

Ken is an instructor in commercial driving training courses, including fatigue management, hours of service (federal and provincial), trip inspection, cargo securement and weight/dimensions. Ken is a certified third-party auditor with Alberta Transportation.


Layla Baird

Layla is an NSC Advisor, as well as the designer of the company's logo, with post-secondary training in graphic design. Layla also handles various administrative duties including log auditing and workshop assistance. In addition, Layla is the office manager for On The Move Safety.
